General Provisions
These rules govern the Asian Economics Olympiad 2026, organized by KNET. Participation is voluntary and free. All problems and instructions are provided in English.
Objectives & Goals
- Develop analytical and problem-solving skills in economics
- Increase knowledge of international and Asian economic issues
- Prepare students for future international Olympiads
Participants
Eligible participants are middle and high school students (grades 9–12) from any Asian school. A team must consist of 3–5 students.
Structure

Preliminary Round
- Online Economics Test (Multiple choice questions)
- Answers submitted via online forms

Main Round
- Online Economics Test
- Multiple choice questions + Advanced economic problem-solving and written analysis

Final Round
- The 15 teams with the highest scores from the first stage advance to the finals
- Teams are given a business case and 24 hours to develop a solution.
- Live Zoom presentations and Q&A by judges
Evaluation Criteria
The assessment of the works is based on the criteria used in the evaluation of business cases of the International Economics Olympiad (IEO 2022).
- The completeness and logic of the proposed solution.
- The validity and reasoning of the conclusions.
- The quality of the presentation and responses to questions during the Q&A session.
Open assignments are checked using neural network technologies with the participation of an expert assistant.
Prizes & Awards
Medals and certificates will be awarded as follows (both years):
- 1 Gold Medal
- 1 Silver Medal
- 1 Bronze Medal
Conduct & Integrity
While completing tasks, teams are prohibited from interacting with other teams or outsiders. Any form of violation of the principles of academic honesty is grounds for disqualification. All questions related to the Olympiad tasks may be asked exclusively through the official communication channels specified by the organizers. In case a single member is found cheating, the whole team is disqualified.
